Chuseok has been explained to be the equivalent of American Thanksgiving. However, I find it to be very different. First, Chuseok follows the Lunar Calendar and is a celebration of Autumn harvest and lasts for three days. Traditionally, Koreans wear hanbok and make some delicious foods, play traditional games, and give their respects to their elders and ancestors. On our Chuseok Activity day, we played Korean traditional games called Jegi, Yut, Kick the Tombstone, and Kang Kang Sullae. Then we threw in an arm wrestling competition. We taught them how to make Korean traditional food called songpyeon (which was a challenge for me to make). We ended the day competing against other classes and it was very fun!
