“Love knows no distance.” It was a dream come true for my family to come and visit me! I started off July at an island in Incheon called Muuido. It was my first time to ride on a ferry and hand-feed seagulls. Friends and I had a great time meeting locals, playing games and just being, despite the sunburns. It feels nice to unplug and recharge. That’s why when my family came to visit, I let my brother take the camera and allowed it to be a vacation for myself as well. I don’t remember a time when my family actually took a vacation without it being work related. And let me tell you, it was a magical vacation. Not only did I love just being in the presence of my family, but I will never forget seeing Dad, Mom, and Heath dive right into whatever circumstance I gave them and run wild with happiness, acceptance, and curiosity. It felt amazing just for me to see them enjoy life, which sometimes goes missed or unseen in everyday routines…also it’s been 7 months since I last saw them, so I was probably just over excited about everything. Other than that, I enjoyed making them sweat from walking farther than necessary and withstanding the summer heat. Apart from taking them to all my favorite places in Seoul, we were also able to visit the DMZ (border area between the North and South) and we were able to “cross the border” in the UN Joint Security Area. They were able to visit my students, who gave them a surprise show thanks to my amazing coteacher!! And we finished the trip at my absolute favorite place on Earth, which they loved just as much as I did. 😉 I’m so happy you guys were able to come! I love you so much!
