August and September

August and September tend to be busy months for me as I prepare for open house. Open House is the day which I teach my language lesson in front of the student’s parents. Being a generally shy person who always had anxiety about public speaking and even skipped her first speech in college, this was the worst day of my teaching journey last year. Fortunately, this year was significantly better as I seemed to have gained some confidence and also my students respond to me differently this year. And the response from the parents and my bosses were very positive! (YEEE!)  I’m very thankful for growth. Aside from the month and a half preparation for this day, I’ve enjoyed a lot of time with my coworkers and friends, but didn’t pick up the camera as often. I’m sad to see the firey summer sunsets are gone, but the fall weather in Korea has been absolutely amazing. I’m excited to have finished up my last open house as I plan to not renew my contract for next year, and I’m excited to make plans and look into the next step!
